The wheel came off the truck, rolled, and hit Russian tourist Alexey Babenko who was driving a large motorbike at Baan Lipon, on Thepkrassatri Rd.
Mr Babenko was transferred to Thalang Hospital, then Vachira, and finally Bangkok Hospital where today he remained in intensive care with serious head injuries. He is covered by insurance.
Thalang Police Lt Col Chatee Chuwichian said the driver of the large truck, 36-year-old Surachai Ketkaew was charged with reckless driving causing injury.
He gave compensation money to the Russian tourist to help pay for his hospital bills.
