Acting on a tip-off, officers began investigating the motorbike-riding lessons provided, which were advertised on Instagram.

Officers then arrived at the parking lot of the now-defunct floating market in Kathu and arrested 29-year-old Russian national Roman Lazarev at about 2:30pm on Saturday (June 22).

When officers arrived they caught him in the middle of teaching a Russian woman, wearing a full-face helmet and protective clothing, how to ride a Honda Scoopy i.

After the lesson Roman wheeled the Honda Scoopy i into a small room, where officers found orange and red cones used to set out a training course.

The woman told police she paid B2,000 for the training lessons, which lasted three days. She had found the services by searching online.

Mr Lazarev was taken to Kathu Police Station and charged with working without a work permit.

Police noted they had found online other foreigners offering the same service.
