Royal gold at Asian equestrian competition

DRESSAGE: Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya was in fine form as she led a team of Thai equestrian athletes to the gold medal in dressage, as the FEI Asian Championships Pattaya 2025 got underway earlier this week.

The dressage competition was the first team event on the opening day of the tournament on Tuesday (Nov 25), hosted by the Thailand Equestrian Association at the iconic Thai Polo & Equestrian Club in Pattaya.

Other members of Princess Sirivannavari’s team included Nareerat Rajakanya, Chanchanok Clara Rukcare, Neer Phutthisombat and Phakjira Thongphak.

The Thai team earned a total score of 205.85, to claim the top prize, while India secured second place with a total score of 205.05, and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China came in third with a total score of 203.23.

Dr Kongsak Yodmanee, Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT), and Meechai Inwood, Deputy Governor of the SAT for Administration, both delivered speeches and offered encouragement and congratulations to the participating athletes at the awards ceremony afterwards.

The FEI Asian Championships Pattaya 2025 sees over 90 elite equestrian athletes from over 13 countries across Asia competing in five categories: Jumping, Dressage, Eventing, Endurance and Para Dressage.

It is the second edition of the competition following the inaugural event in 2019 and runs until Dec 7.
