Narcotics suppression officers accompanied by military personnel moved in at 6am but the target suspect Anat Thongthan, 35, still registered as living in Tai Muang District in Phang Nga, was not at home.
Regardless, a search of the house uncovered several sacks of fresh Kratom leaves – more than 1,000 pre-packed bundles by official estimates – weighing about 207kg, as well as two plastic packets containing a total of 157 orange and green ya bah pills and two sticks of dried cannabis weighing four grams.
The task force yesterday also arrested Weerachai Jittjamnong, 19, after he was caught with just 30mg (0.03g) of crystal meth (ya ice) at an unregistered room in Moo2 Srisoonthorn.
Also listed as evidence was drug-taking paraphernalia and a “3x5cm transparent plastic bag”.
The official report of the arrests gave no indication of whether Weerachai’s arrest was in any way connected with the raid on the house in the Sinsuk Thani estate, but did note that the initial raid was also aimed at uncovering firearms and evidence of money owed by at least four people.
Weearachai and the evidence seized were taken to Thalang Police Station, where Weerachai was charged accordingly.
The officers are still looking for Anat.
