Region 8 Police Commander Pol Lt Gen Surapong Thanomchit led the official launch ceremony of the campaign at the Region 8 Police headquarters, at the northern end of the island, on Tuesday (Dec 24).
Joined by senior officers, the event brought together police officers, military personnel, administrative officials and community volunteers.
The initiative is in line with measures outlined by the Royal Thai Police to enhance public safety and ensure smooth traffic flow during the holiday season, Pol Lt Gen Surapong said.
Special focus has been placed on protecting lives and property, safeguarding tourists and preventing violence in the region, he added.
The operation integrates resources from various agencies, including the Phuket Provincial Police, Phang Nga Provincial Police, Tourist Police Bureau, Immigration, Marine Police, Highway Police, Forensic Science Division and local administrative and civil defence volunteers (OrSor).
During his address, Pol Lt Gen Surapong Thanomchit emphasised the importance of commitment and teamwork. He urged all personnel to work with determination and selflessness to inspire public confidence and ensure a peaceful holiday season.
