Chalong Police Chief Pol Col Ekarat Plaiduang confirmed the arrest today (July 12).
Following an investigation, officers led by Pol Sub Lt Pitchat Putthosit arrested Myanmar national Aung Ko Phyo, 23, yesterday (July 11), Col Ekarat confirmed.
In making the arrest, officers seized as evidence the black, Phuket-registered Honda Dream motorbike used to commission the offence, along with the yellow T-shirt and green shorts worn when the indecent assault was carried out.
Aung Ko Phyo was taken to Chalong Police Station for further legal proceedings, Col Ekarat also confirmed.
The incident came to public knowledge after a series of posts on social media called for any information that might lead to the arrest of the culprit following the assault on July 1. (See story here.)
