Investigators from Thalang Police Station arrested Therdkiat Phetphrim, 38, at a house in Ananda Lakeview Village in Thepkrasattri at about 12pm on Friday (May 8).
Police charged him with theft in a dwelling using a vehicle to facilitate the removal of stolen property or to evade arrest.
According to police, officers received a report of a burglary at a residence in Ananda Lakeview Village and launched an investigation to track down the suspect.
A search operation led officers to a house within the same village, where Therdkiat was apprehended.
Police said the search uncovered several items connected to the burglary, including a gold necklace, gold jewellery and gold earrings. Officers also seized a white-and-red Honda Click bearing a Phuket licence plate, which the suspect admitted using during the crime.
A police report submitted to the Phuket Provincial Center for the Prevention and Suppression of Torture and Enforced Disappearance confirmed that audio and video recordings were made during the arrest in compliance with Thailand’s Prevention and Suppression of Torture and Enforced Disappearance Act B.E. 2565 (2022), police noted in their report.
Therdkiat was taken to Thalang Police Station for further legal action.
