Patcharajutar and Aphichaya are among 11 Thai players invited to participate in the inaugural KLPGA Tour event in Thailand, which boasts 61 golfers from the KLPGA Tour, vying for a top prize purse worth $117,000, reports the Bangkok Post.
“I am delighted and excited to participate in the KLPGA Tour event. Playing on this course has been a childhood dream of mine,” said Patcharajutar, who claimed two trophies on the Thai LPGA Tour last season.
“While I don’t harbour high expectations, I am committed to sticking to my plan, managing my emotions, and performing at my best.”
Aphichaya, who earned her LPGA Tour card through the Q-School in 2023, is enthusiastic about the opportunity to compete in a home KLPGA event.
“It’s an honour to partake in the tournament, featuring the top 60 players of the KLPGA Tour. I am thrilled. Having previously played in China, I am fully prepared for this event.”
KLPGA stars Lee Ye-Won and Kim Jae-Hee, who are among top contenders this week, were pleased with their practice session at the renowned Blue Canyon course.
“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to compete and play on the prestigious Blue Canyon course. While I haven’t played here before, I’ve heard it’s narrow and challenging, so I need to plan my game carefully. My goal is simply to make it into the top 10,” said Lee.
