The closing ceremony was held on July 11 at the 4,000-seat gymnasium in Saphan Hin overseen by Thammawat Wongcharoenyos, President of the Sport Association of Phuket and Sports Authority of Thailand Committee Member.
Mr Thammawat was joned by: PPAO Deputy Mayor Anupap Wechwanichsanong; Aomduen Phiwthong, Director of the PPAO Tourism and Sports Division; Phuket City Deputy Mayor Pibulsak Kittithorakun; and selected dignitaries.
The competition is a collaboration between the PPAO, the Sport Association of Phuket and the Phuket Futsal Club and saw 107 teams and 1,256 players participating. The competition is divided into two categories and seven age groups: boys and girls under 12, 15 and 18 years old, and the general public category for men and women over 18.
The results were as follows:
Girls U-12 winners: Plukpanya Municipal School; Runner-up: Darasamut School; Third place: Ban Nabon Provincial Administration Organisation School.
Boys U-12: Winners: Plukpanya Municipal School; Runner-up: M.DEN Miners; Third place: Chalermprakiat School.
Girls U-15: Winners: Phuket Municipal School B; Runner-up: Plukpanya Municipal School; Third place: Kathu Municipal School 2.
Boys U-15: Winners: Chalermprakiat School Phuket; Runner-up: Cocoretreat Phuket; Third place: Hong Yok Bamrung School.
Boys U-18: Winners: Phuket Technical College; Runner-up: Cherng Thalay Wittayakhom School; Third place: Muang Thalang School.
Open Age Women: Winners: SPK x LuanWomen; Runner-up: Phuket Rajabhat University; Third place: Phuket Municipal School.
Open Age Men: Winners: PiKGO x Tohdeang x Luan FC; Runner-up: WCSK x Nong HANAN; Third place: Dek Baan San.
The tournament aims to help develop the standard of futsal players in Phuket by providing a platform for athletes to showcase their potential, develop skills and gain competitive experience towards excellence, while promoting a healthy lifestyle based on the merits of good sportsmanship, said organisers.
