The key in the raid, conducted on Tuesday night (Mar 26), was that of a 51-year-old woman named by police only as ‘Ms Suri’ (last name withheld), who is better known locally as ‘Aunt Yee’.
At the home police found, and seized, a total of 1,756 ya bah plls and 616.76 grams of ya ice. The drugs had been separated into small plastic bags, ready for sale, police noted.
Suri was charged charged with selling a Category 1 narcotic.
Also arrested was ‘Mr Somchai’ (last name withheld), 42, who was found with 20 ya bah pills. He was charged with Illegal possession of a Category 1 narcotic and with illegal gambling online.
The third arrest was that of ‘Mr Niwat’ (last name withheld), 26, who was found with two ya bah pills. He was charged with Illegal possession of a Category 1 narcotic and with consuming a Category 1 drug “in violation of the law”.
Chalong Police issued a warning to those involved in drugs in the area. Regardless of whether the person was a large or small trader or a consumer, Chalong Police vowed “to investigate and prosecute every case until the end”.
