Police noted they launched an investigation following posts about illegal street racing on local social media channels.
The investigation resulted in the arrests of five people and the seizure of their five motorbikes in an operation at 12:45am today, police confirmed
The offenders’ details have been recorded, and authorities are considering further legal action, police said.
No details of the offenders, most likely youths, were provided.
The public were urged to report any similar incidents as police continue their efforts to curb dangerous street racing on the island.
