Announcing the news at Phuket Provincial Police headquarters this afternoon (Nov 1) was the new Phuket Provincial Police Commander, Pol Maj Gen Sinlert Sukhum, who previously served as Commander of Region 3 Police.
Joining the press conference were Phuket Provincial Police Deputy Commander Pol Col Kitipong Klaikaew along with Phuket Provincial Police Investigation Superintendent Pol Col Ekkalak Bunsaengcharoen and Deputy Superintendents of Investigation Pol Lt Col Pairoj Thanapannathorn and Pol Lt Col Suphap Sae-lim.
The arrest team was led by Phuket Provincial Police Crime Suppression Division chief Pol Lt Col Phichit Thongto, joined by Phuket Provincial Police Crime Suppression Division officers.
The press conference today was to announce three specific arrests.
Anon ‘Non’ Sukchuang, 43, registered as living on Sakdidet Rd in Talad Nuea Subdistrict of Phuket Town, was arrested at a hotel room on Chaofa Rd.
A subsequent search of a property on Ranong Rd led to officers seizing 46,400 tablets of ya bah and 4.13g of crystal meth. Also seized as evidence were a digital scale and one mobile phone, among 10 other items.
The second arrest announced was that of Paradee ‘Boom’ Posri, 43, from Chiang Rai Province. She was arrested at a rented room on Soi Phoonpon 9.
Officers seized 2,688 ya bah pills and 0.18g of ya ice, along with drug-taking paraphernalia, a mobile phone and eight other items.
The third arrest announced today was that of Patsak ‘Pok’ Suwannakat, 42, from Phatthalung Province, who was arrested in front of Mae Sombat Restaurant on Phoonpon Rd.
A subsequent search of an unregistered abode in the Soi Saensuk Community in Phuket Town resulted in the seizure of 213 ya bah pills and 0.12g of ya ice, and one 357-calibre bullet.
Also seized was one Samsung Galaxy a04 mobile phone, among 10 other items.
All three were taken to Phuket City Police Station and charged with illegal possession of a Category 1 narcotic with intent to distribute and with illegally taking a Category 1 narcotic.
Patsak was also charged with illegal possession of ammunition.
All three confessed to the charges against them, police said.
