Police were called to the Krungthai Bank on Sakdidet Rd in Wichit after being alerted to the robbery before 4pm.
The man entered the bank at about 3pm while wearing a full-face helmet and what was reported to be a stocking over his face. He ordered the security guard at gunpoint to walk to a teller and demanded for the teller to hand over all the cash at hand.
Recorded CCTV footage from the bank shows the man entering the bank at 2:40pm.
He arrived wearing a black jacket, helmet and gloves, and pointed a gun at guard who was waiting outside.
He then entered the bank and demanded that Teller 1 empty her drawers of cash into a plastic bag and in less than two minutes he walked out of the bank and fired his gun into the air and he warned all present to not follow him.
Mr robber then sped off on his motorbike and was last seen entering Soi Suwanna, about 150 metres away.
“We have alerted all police stations to be on the lookout,” said Wichit Police Chief Kittipong Klaikaew.
