Thalang Police held a press conference yesterday (May 17) to present three suspects arrested on Tuesday (May 15) for setting on fire a pickup truck in the Eakkachai Villa housing estate in Srisoonthorn at 11:30pm on April 30.
Thalang Police Chief Col Teerawat Liamsuwan explained that officers had tracked down the suspects through CCTV footage, mobile phone signals and witnesses.
Officers arrested two men – Wiwat Singkala, 18, and Purachart Jitchamnan, 19 – at separate addresses in Mai Khao, police explained.
One woman arrested for the crime, named by police only as “Ms Wan”, age 52, was taken into custody at a residence in Sakoo.
All three are were charged arson, Col Teerawat confirmed.
Wan also faces an addition charge of motivating others to commit arson “through hire, intimidation or forcing others to commit a crime,” Col Teerawat added.
However, it was not explained exactly how Wan motivated the two men to set the pickup truck on fire.
Police also did not reveal who owned the pickup or any reason for targeting that particular vehicle.
However, police did say they were continuing their investigation.
