Officers arrived at the Boomerang Car & Bike Rental on Srisoonthorn Rd, Cherng Talay, at about 3:30pm, explained the full 30-page report detailing the raid and subsequent arrests.

The report identified the three men arrested as Stepan Yakubenko, 37; Roman Orlach, 42; and Dmitrii Shadrin, 33, with their names and ages confirmed by copies of passports provided.

Police at first had the shop under surveillance, and for two days saw two foreign men serving customers throughout the day, prompting officers to move in and make the arrests.

It was explained to the men that it was illegal for foreigners to work in Thailand without a work permit.

In a video recorded while the three men were speaking with police at the shop, Mr Yakubenko explained that the correct documents had already been submitted with the government agencies, and they were waiting for those agencies to reply with their approval.

While the officers were at the shop, another foreign man entered and identified himself as an employee. The foreigner, Moroccan national Ali Benhi, 29, presented to officers his valid work permit.

Regardless, all three men were Informed of their rights and taken to Cherng Talay Police Station to be charged.

Mr Yakubenko was charged with hiring foreigners to work without a work permit, while Mr Orlach and Mr Shadrin were charged with working illegally.
