Police were notified of the incident at 8:50pm. Officers, along with Kusoldharm Phuket Foundation rescue volunteers, arrived at the scene on Soi Som Kwai Yai in Patong, to find the body of Sacha Sae Jeew, 66, lying next to an unnumbered shed.

Mr Satcha was wearing a green long-sleeved shirt and black tracksuit trousers. His right hand was still holding a lawnmower, and he had visible wounds to his neck and right cheek.

Police were joined at the scene by Patong Police Chief Pol Col Chalermchai Hirasawat and other investigators, who examined the area and collected evidence.

Mr Satcha’s younger brother, Suthep Sae Jeew, told police that at about 7:50pm, he received a call from his brother’s wife, Ms Supit, who said she could not reach her husband and asked him to check on him at the hut. When Mr Suthep arrived, he found his brother already dead and immediately called the police.

Police have requested a forensic examination to confirm the cause of death. The body was taken to Vachira Phuket Hospital for further medical examination.

Investigators are continuing to determine whether the fatal wounds were the result of an accident or foul play.
