In the first incident, a motorist attacked a motorcyclist with a knife following a collision on Thepkrasattri Rd in Srisoonthorn, Thalang, at about 6:08am on Saturday (Apr 18).
CCTV footage of the incident, widely shared online, showed a man driving a sedan arguing with a 19-year-old motorcyclist before pulling a knife from his vehicle and chasing the rider along the roadside.
The victim, Chakrit Jindawong, told police he was riding his white Honda motorcycle from the Heroines Monument towards a U-turn point near a housing estate when a Honda City car cut in front of him, causing a collision on the right side of his bike.
Both parties later stopped near the Khao Lan intersection, in front of a local restaurant, where the driver attacked Mr Chakrit with a knife, causing injuries, before fleeing the scene.
Mr Chakrit filed a complaint with investigators at Thalang Police Station, and officers are now working to identify and apprehend the suspect.
The incident sparked widespread criticism online, with many questioning why no bystanders intervened and calling for swift justice.
In a separate case, police are also hunting an unidentified man who used an iron bar to assault a group of teenagers near the entrance to Bang Wad Dam in Kathu late on Friday (Apr 17).
Video footage of the incident, which occurred at about 11:25pm, showed a group of youths arguing before the situation escalated into a physical fight. A man wearing a hat and face mask then entered the scene carrying an iron bar and began attacking several people, including two women.
According to initial reports, the altercation began as a dispute between two groups of women who had arranged to meet and resolve their differences, but the situation quickly turned violent.
Two people were injured in the attack and later underwent X-rays and medical examinations. They have since filed complaints with investigators at Kathu Police Station.
Police are reviewing CCTV footage and gathering evidence in both cases as they work to track down the suspects and proceed with legal action.
