Thalang Police said the incident occurred at about 7pm at a motorcycle repair shop opposite the Thai Watsadu store in Srisoonthorn.
The victim, named as 38-year-old Pornpana Manhan, sustained a stab wound about 2cm deep to the right side of her back. She was rushed by her sister to Thalang Hospital, where doctors reported her condition as stable.
Investigators said the attack stemmed from an argument between Ms Pornpana and her husband, 34-year-old Trirong Detpongha, over a fishing rod reel. In the heat of the quarrel, Mr Trirong allegedly picked up a pair of scissors and stabbed his wife before fleeing the scene.
Officers from Thalang Police Station were alerted by hospital staff at about 7:20pm and launched an immediate investigation. The victim later confirmed to police that her husband was responsible for the assault.
Pol Lt Col Sumet Jitpetch, Deputy Inspector (Investigation) at Thalang Police, is leading the case under the supervision of Pol Lt Col Anukul Nuket, Deputy Superintendent (Investigation), and Thalang Police Superintendent Col Nikorn Chuthong.
Police confirmed that the suspect has not yet been arrested. Statements from the victim and witnesses are being collected as part of the ongoing investigation, with charges of assault causing bodily harm expected to be filed.
