Through an undercover officer, an appointment was made through WhatsApp to meet the women at the hotel room for the agreed service fee of B13,000 per person, plus B1,000 travel expenses, police explained yesterday (Mar 6).
At about 10:30pm, the undercover officer gave the signal and officers moved in to make the arrests, police said.
The women arrested were named as Anna Britousova, 19, and Olga Puchkova, 23.
Seized as evidence were 14 B1,000 banknotes found in Ms Britousova’s shoulder bag and 13 B1,000 banknotes found in Ms Puchkova’s shoulder bag, and three Durex condoms that were on the bed “ready for use”.
The women were taken to Patong Police Station and charged with prostitution.
The women were also to face further charges under the Immigration Act, police confirmed.
