The suspect, identified by police as Thavisak ‘Max’ Lomchart, was arrested at an unnumbered house in Soi Kingkaew 10, Moo 3, Ratsada, yesterday (Feb 11) in an operation led by officers from the Investigation Division and the Narcotics Suppression Unit.
During the arrest, officers seized 186.68 grammes of crystal meth (ya ice), 39 methamphetamine pills (ya bah), one mobile phone allegedly used to contact buyers, and several other related items.
Police also seized assets believed to be linked to the alleged drug trade, including a Siam Commercial Bank account in the suspect’s name with a balance of B16,500.78 and a red-black Honda Scoopy i motorcycle valued at about B15,000.
Mr Thavisak has been charged with possession of Category 1 narcotics (ice and methamphetamine) for sale without permission, an offence classified as drug trafficking, as well as illegal consumption of Category 1 narcotics.
Following the arrest, the suspect was taken into custody and handed over to investigators at Mueang Phuket Police Station for further legal proceedings, Phuket City Police reported.
Police said the operation was part of ongoing efforts to suppress drug trafficking and distribution networks in Phuket.
