Police came to learn about the incident following a video clip of the incident on local social media channels yesterday (May 23).
The video showed two men arriving in front of the curry stall, near the Khao Lan Intersection, on a green sport motorbike. The man riding as pillion passenger dismounts the motorbike and walks up to the stall and starts kicking down items on the counter.
The man, wearing a full-face helmet, then returns to the motorbike and the two sped off.
The time stamp on the video showed that the incident occurred just after 7am yesterday morning (May 23).
The video of the incident saw many negative comments posted and calls for police to bring the situation under control.
Pol Lt Col Kritsana Channit of the Thalang Police said officers were checking CCTV in the area in the hope of tracking down the two men.
Officers also had spoken with the three women who run the curry stall. However, all three said they had “no problems”.
“But they weren’t saying everything on the phone,” Pol Lt Col Kritsana noted, adding that the women were asked to come to Thalang Police Station to explain the incident and give more details of the incident to help police track down the perpetrators.
One of the curry stall operators, ‘Ms Oi’, did present herself at the police station and gave a statement to police.
That statement has now been handed to Thalang Police Deputy Chief Pol Lt Col Anukul Nooket, who in turn will present it to Phuket Provincial Police Deputy Commander Pol Col Akanit Phithaksart, Pol Lt Col Kritsana Channit said.
