The twin celebrations were joined by Phuket Vice Governor Suwit Pansengiam, along with Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Phuket Office Director Siriwan Singharaj, resort Managing Director Korntip Riankrai, Miss Universe Phuket 2025 Director Teerasak Phonngam, hotel executives, partners and contestants from across the country.
Vice Governor Suwit said Phuket was honoured to welcome the Miss Universe Thailand 2025 contestants to the island, noting that the combination of the pageant and the resort launch provided a unique opportunity to showcase Phuket’s natural beauty and cultural charm to domestic and international visitors.
“This event is an important opportunity to promote the province as a tourism destination on the global stage,” he said.
Located on Layan Beach, Kora Beach Resort Phuket draws inspiration from the ocean in its design and offers 5-star service standards. The property aims to become a sought-after destination for travellers worldwide. During the opening, Ms Korntip presented a B20,000 scholarship to Phuket Province, received by Vice Governor Suwit.
The event follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Team Phuket, led by Mr Teerasak, and the resort, confirming it as the official accommodation sponsor for Miss Universe Thailand 2025 this month, and for the 74th Miss Universe competition, to be held in November.
From Nov 8–12, Phuket will host more than 130 contestants from around the world for a series of activities ahead of the Miss Universe final, showcasing the island to a global audience.
The Miss Universe Thailand 2025 Phuket events will run from Aug 9-16 at the Angsana Convention and Exhibition Space, with four main shows open to the public: the “Extravaganza Gala of the Celestial” (Aug 10), “Queen of Thai Silk” (Aug 12), the Swimsuit Competition (Aug 13) and “Queen of Phuket” (Aug 14).
