The group, which included Rassada Village Headman, Charnchai Tantawachirapan, gathered outside of Provincial Hall holding plackards to show their condolences to the victims who died or were injured in the blast and their families.

The protesters stated that they condemn the person responsible for the blast and anyone who may have helped them to carry out the attack.

The group also rallied to show their support for the current government and to urge officials to continue to work to return happiness to the people.

Mr Charnchai said, “We want everyone to know that we are very sorry for the bomb incident that happened to our people and tourists. We condemn the perpetrator and those who are involved in this violent act.

“We are standing by our government and officials to fight against violence and help to keep peace and order for the people.”

Governor Nisit Jansomwong said, “Thank you to everyone for showing your support to government officials who are dealing with the situation and for letting everyone know that Thailand does not accept these acts of violence.

“Phuket is a tourism city so officials have to provide maximum security to ensure the safety of residents and tourists, and I believe that we can do it here because everyone is helping.

“Thank you again Phuket Village Headman Association for showing your strong support to the victims and their families who have had to suffer the loss of loved ones.”
