The incident occurred at about 5:30pm as officers continued their patrol. While inspecting a red booth, officers noticed a man behaving suspiciously, holding an unidentified object in his left hand.

The suspect, later identified as Ekkaudom Phantha, 40, from Nakhon Sri ThammaratProvince, fled the scene when officers approached him for questioning.

Ekkaudom ran to a Phuket-registered passenger van and sped off. The officers pursued him on motorbikes.

While attempting to stop the vehicle, one of the officers saw through the open window of the van and spotted what appeared to be ya bah pills on the driver’s seat.

Ekkaudom rolled up the window, nearly trapping the hand of Pol Sgt Supachai Sanamchai,. However, the officer used his flashlight to block the window, causing the glass to shatter. Pol Sgt Supachai sustained minor injuries from the broken glass.

Police apprehended Ekkaudom and conducted a search, discovering four ya bah pills in his possession.

A subsequent urine test confirmed the presence of methamphetamine in Ekkaudom‘s system.

Ekkaudom was taken into custody, charged with drug-related offenses, and transferred to the investigation officer for further legal proceedings.
