The result puts the Andaman Pearl in 4th place of the 14-team league with 23 points from seven wins, two draws and four losses in their 13 matches thus far.
Thailand futsal powerhouse, Chonburi Bluewave look destined for yet another league trophy, and have yet to be beat with 37 points. In distant second is Siam Navy with 27 points, followed by Bangkok FC who have 24 points.
Though Samut Sakhon also has 23 points, Phuket have a superior goal difference (+10 to +1).
The Andaman Pearl also have a few promising contenders in the league’s golden boot race. “Action” Jackson Santos is joint fifth with 11 goals to his credit, while Patchara Simanta is joint 7th with 8 goals.
Running away in front of the race is Siam Navy’s Jessada Chutdet with 20 goals, followed by Nakhon Ratchasima’s Pornthep Sonamitr with 17 goals.
Also noteworthy this season for Phuket United is that they have been the only team so far to not be defeated by runaway league leaders Chonburi Bluewave, who have won all their matches, with one exception – the match in which they drew Phuket United on April 18, 3-3. Story here.
Next Phuket United will host 10th place Mor Pak Khon Kaen FC for a rematch, but on Phuket turf, at the Saphan Hin Sports Centre, this Saturday, June 20. Kick off is 7pm.
