Reports said the truck crashed on the Patong side of the hill.
Truck driver Worachat Sriwichayangkul was driving from Surat Thani to Patong to drop off drink supplies to hotels.
Mr Worachat told The Phuket News he was driving down the hill toward Patong when he braked on a bend. The truck lost balance and rolled onto its side, narrowly missing landing on a car which was being driven up the hill toward Kathu. Mr Worachat has been charged with careless driving.
The driver of the car was Ms Rada Yotharat.
No one was injured.
