Phuket City Traffic Police Chief Lt Col Teerawat Liemsuwan urged mototrists not wanting to become entangled in any traffic delays to avoid the area.

“The Phuket Christmas Festival 2015 will include several decorated floats and many cars and pickup trucks, as well as at least 200 people taking part in the parade,” he said.

The parade will begin at the Mingmongkol dragon statue at Queen Sirikit Park on Thalang Rd and continue west onto Krabi Rd and directly onto Wichit Songkram Rd, where it will conclude at Surakul Stadium, near Central Festival Phuket.

“We will have traffic policeman stationed at each major intersection along the route,” Col Teerawat said.

“The parade will not greatly affect traffic,” he added.
