Located near Rawai Beach, the temple has welcomed more than 100,000 devotees over the past year, including visitors from Thailand, India and around the world. Organisers say the anniversary commemorates “one year of faith, success and unity”, strengthening both religious and cultural connections between the two nations.
The temple, founded by Phuket Nine Co Ltd CEO Papatchara Meepa, is built in the traditional Nagara style with Maratha architectural influence. Its centrepiece is a striking statue of Lord Ganesha in the revered Dakdusheth form, standing 2.2 metres tall and 1.8m wide. The site covers almost 700sqm and has quickly become a landmark for spiritual tourism in Phuket.
The anniversary celebration will feature sacred Hindu rituals conducted in accordance with ancient Indian traditions, including a special blessing ceremony and four rounds of Aarti worship as a prayer for prosperity and good fortune for all attendees.
Organisers also confirmed that the temple plans to expand its cultural calendar in 2026, with large-scale celebrations for Ganesh Chaturthi in August, along with flower, mango and coconut festivals and additional religious ceremonies.
The Lord Shrimant Ganpati Bappa Devalai has invited residents, devotees and visitors of all faiths to join the anniversary ceremony and be part of what organisers describe as “a celebration of faith, prosperity and auspicious beginnings”.
