Details of the will of Juriphan Poolsri, 50, were revealed at a press briefing held at Wat Wichit Sangkharam on Saturday (Mar 28), following her death from a chronic illness.

Her personal lawyer, Jatuporn Mintrawech, and the director of Satree Phuket School, Panya Hatthi, confirmed that the will ‒ prepared on Mar 21 ‒ outlined her wish to donate all assets for public benefit, with a strong focus on education.

Under the will, funds from multiple sources, including the Government Pension Fund, funeral assistance, provident fund contributions and survivor benefits, are to be transferred to the school. Mr Panya has been appointed executor, tasked with ensuring the assets are used in accordance with her wishes.

The funds will primarily be used to establish scholarships for underprivileged but high-achieving students. Each scholarship will provide B3,000, with three awarded annually until the funds are exhausted.

Part of the estate will also be used to install a hot and cold water system in the teachers’ lounge of the school’s International Programme department, where Ms Juriphan previously worked.

Additional funds have been earmarked for welfare and charitable purposes, including financial assistance for teachers and staff, funeral support and broader community aid.

Mr Panya said he was honoured to be entrusted with executing the will and pledged to carry out the teacher’s wishes with transparency and integrity to ensure the benefits reach students, the school and the wider community.

The announcement was attended by local officials, colleagues and relatives, who paid tribute to Ms Juriphan ‒ known among peers as ‘Teacher Ju’ ‒ for her dedication and selflessness.

Her final act of giving has been widely praised as an example of generosity, highlighting the impact one individual can have in supporting education and society even after death.
