The Interior Ministry today issued an order to all of the Kingdom's provincial governments and security commandars to be on heightened alert, especially in high-potential targets such as tourism centers. The mandate has already been employed at Phuket Airport where dozens of armed military and paramilitary forces have reinforced the regular security force, which comprises a special bomb unit, confirmed Phuket Airport Director Monruedi Ketpan. All operators and caretakers of CCTV cameras throughout the province are asked to ensure that the devices and power sources are in working order, and to report any malfunctions or other potential black spots. Checkpoints and patrols will be carried out by police, military and paramilitary forces throughout the island, especially in tourism areas around the airport and at popular beach destinations. Any suspicious activity or suspects should be reported to authorities immediately. All emergencies can be reported by dialing 191.
