The parade will commence at 5.30pm today (Sept 3) from the Golden Dragon Statue (Hai Leng Ong Statue) at the 72nd Anniversary of Queen Mother Sirikit Park on Thalang Rd, according to an announcement by Phuket City Municipality.
The participants will march to Phuket Rd and the proceed all the way down to Por Tor Kong Bang Niew Shrine (Sheng Tek Beo Shrine) on the intersection of Takua Thung Rd and Soi Saksit.
The procession will pass Chartered Bank Intersection and Surin Circle (Clocktower Circle) on Phuket Rd, then turn into Kra Rd and after that turn to Takua Thung Rd.
“The said procession may cause inconvenience to motorists traveling back and forth. We therefore kindly request that you avoid using the said route on the day and time [of the parade]. We apologise for any inconvenience caused,” Phuket City Municipality said.
The Sept 3 procession will be the second and last big street parade during this year’s Hungry Ghosts Festival celebrated from Aug 28 through Sept 14.
