The meeting, held at Phuket Provincial Hall, brought together Head of the Phuket Provincial Office Narong On-in, heads of government departments and representatives of project-owning agencies to prepare budget presentations for the Special Committee considering the draft Fiscal Year 2027 Budget Act.

Officials reviewed the timetable for the budget process following the Cabinet’s approval of the revised budget calendar and Parliament’s ongoing consideration of the draft budget legislation.

The meeting also examined guidelines for preparing project information, supporting documents and budget justifications to ensure agencies are ready to present complete and clear information to the committee.

According to the Budget Bureau’s preliminary proposal, Phuket has been allocated a budget framework of B38.097 million covering 11 projects and 61 activities.

The proposed projects include tourism development, public safety, workforce development, medical wellness promotion, preservation and promotion of Kabaya cultural identity, drug prevention and suppression, and natural resource conservation.

Governor Chotinrin instructed all agencies to verify the accuracy of project details, performance indicators and supporting documents, particularly for projects that received reduced budget allocations, and to revise proposals to align with the Budget Bureau’s funding framework.

He said all projects should create added value for Phuket and support the province’s role as a world-class tourism destination, while ensuring each proposal has clear objectives and strong justification for funding during the parliamentary review process.
