“We completed the first draft of the constituation at the end of last month and the documents have been sent to Council for Democratic Reform for consideration.
“We are now waiting for to be told of any changes the council, cabinet and National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) wishes to make.
“Once we have receieved the proposed changes, the final draft should be complete by May 25. However, we must be sure that the proposed changes are beneficial to the genral public,” Gen Lertrat Ratanavanich, Advisory Chairman to the CDC told The Phuket News during the meeting.
“Meetings like the one being held here in Phuket today, where people can exchange ideas with people from other provinces will make the drafting process more effective.
“Phuket is the forth province we have visited. We have previously visited Songkhla, Nakorn Sawan and Ayutthaya where locals were very interested in joining the meeting with us.
“There were always thousands of people in attendance because they feel this is an important issue which will affect their live.
“The next provinces we will visit include Udon Thani, Ubon Ratchathani, Narathiwas, Phitsanulok, Phetchburi and other eight provinces. Locals as well as people from nearby provinces are welcome to attend and give their input,” he added.
