The workshop, titled ‘Applying AI to Enhance Government Work Efficiency and Public Services’, was officially opened at The Pago Design Hotel Phuket yesterday (May 12) by Phuket Vice Governor Suwit Phansengiam.
Also attending were Phuket Provincial Office Human Resource Management Group Director Jarunee Thongsai, along with government officials and employees, and personnel from districts across Phuket.
Officials said the training was designed to help government staff develop practical skills in the use of artificial intelligence, particularly for document management and public services, with the goal of making administrative processes faster and more accurate.
The workshop also focused on ensuring AI technologies are used safely and legally, including compliance with computer crime regulations and Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).
Morning sessions included an introduction to Generative AI and ChatGPT led by the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (Depa), alongside practical workshops on Prompt Engineering and Canva AI. Participants were also divided into groups to identify operational “pain points” within their own organisations and develop AI-based solutions.
Afternoon sessions featured a case study presentation on successful AI implementation in government work by Veerawat Lienudom, followed by additional workshops focused on using AI for document creation and administrative management.
Officials said ideas and solutions developed during the training would be refined into operational guidelines for agencies across Phuket, with the aim of reducing administrative errors, improving efficiency and delivering more effective public services.
