The plans were confirmed at a meeting chaired by Patong Mayor Lalita Maneesri at Patong Municipality on Monday (Apr 20), where officials, police, hospital representatives, business leaders and community groups gathered to prepare for the 10-day event.

Speaking at the meeting, Andaman Power Association President Supakorn Suwan said this year marks the fourth edition of the festival and will be the biggest yet, reinforcing Phuket’s ambition to position itself as a leading destination for the global LGBTQI+ community.

This year’s edition is being held under the banner ‘From Visibility to Equality’, and the motto: “Be Loud, Be Proud, Be You”.

Mr Supakorn said the festival aims to promote diversity, boost tourism confidence and highlight human rights, including gender equality, while encouraging wider social acceptance and equal access to services.

Organisers say the event will go beyond celebration, positioning Pride as a platform to amplify voices and support longer-term structural change through links to policy and urban development.

A range of activities is planned throughout the festival, including beach volleyball competitions, an equality and diversity seminar series, the Miss Queen Andaman Power 2026 pageant and a large-scale Pride parade through Patong.

Mayor Lalita said Patong Municipality is fully committed to supporting the event, describing it as another key highlight for the resort town as a world-class tourism destination.

She called on all sectors to cooperate in ensuring the festival runs smoothly and safely.

The Phuket Pride Festival is expected to draw both domestic and international visitors, with organisers aiming to create an inclusive environment welcoming people of all ages and backgrounds.
