Phuket power outages to upgrade high-voltage lines

PHUKET: Major blackouts are affecting key residential and commercial areas in and around Phuket Town from this week so that the Phuket Provincial Electricity Authority (PPEA) can work on high-voltage power lines in the areas.

Power supply along Thepkrasattri Rd northbound north of Phuket Town has been shut down today (July 5) from 9am to 4pm so that maintenance workers can work on high-voltage power cables there.

The affected areas along Thepkrasattri Rd northbound start at the Seventh-Day Adventist School near Wat Kosit Viharn and end at the power substation on the corner of Soi Parchasamakke, and include Soi Kanjana U-thit, Soi Rassada Ramluek, Soi Manu U-thit, Soi Lak koksri, Moo Baan Prompan Village and Moo Baan Hongbuth.

Other areas to suffer power outages from 9am to 4pm this week are as follows:

July 6 – WICHIT: Sakdidet Rd, including Sakdidet Soi 7 to Sakdidet Soi 9, Soi Yee Teng, Soi A-jor, Soi Thanit Turakit, Soi Saokhem, Soi Gao-na, Soi Ruamsin, Moo Baan Netthip, Soi Udom, Soi Pea Hokseng and Mueang Thong junction.

July 7 – PHUKET TOWN: Thepkrasattri Rd, from the Standard Chartered Bank building, south along Phuket Rd and extending as far west as the Nimit Circle (Seahorse Circle). Areas affected include Soi Taling Chan, Soi Hab ek, Bang Niew Intersection, Chana Charoen Rd, Soi Surin, Soi Dilok Uthit 2 and some parts of Expo shopping centre.

July 8 – KOH KAEW: Thepkrasattri Rd (southbound), from the entrance to Phuket Boat Lagoon to Supalai Lagoon housing estate in Sapam.

July 9 – PHUKET TOWN: Damrong Rd, from Phuket Prison to Soi Palian, extending south to the interscetion of Amphur Rd and Phuyaibaan Rd, and including Soi Prakansangkom, Narison Rd, Phuket Provincial Community Hall, Kamnan Rd, Tesa Rd, the Office of the Non-Formal and Information Education, Bamrung Rd and Soi Toh Sae (leading up Toh Sae Hill).
