The operation was carried out at about 4pm, when officers from the Phuket Provincial Police Investigation Division Narcotics Suppression Unit arrested Thawatchai ‘Yoi’ Yanayon, 44, at his home in Soi Bang Chee Lao, Moo 2, Ratsada.
Police seized 400.03g of crystal meth and 14,128 ya bah pills during the operation.
Authorities also confiscated a Honda Forza motorcycle valued at about B200,000 as an asset believed to be connected to the alleged drug offences.
Thawatchai has been charged with possessing and selling Category 1 narcotics with intent to sell without permission for commercial purposes, an offence police said affected public safety and national security. He also faces a charge of illegal use of Category 1 narcotics.
Following the arrest, the suspect was handed over to investigators at Muang Phuket Police Station for further legal action.
The arrest forms part of Phuket Provincial Police’s 90-day anti-drug campaign, which aims to suppress drug trafficking and related crime across the island.
