At 4pm yesterday (Oct 10), an officer from Sakoo Police Station received a report from a lifeguard at Nai Thon Beach that a body had been found floating in the sea.
The body had already been brought to shore.
Officers from Sakoo Police, the Tourist Police, Tourist Assistance Centre and rescue workers attended the scene to find the body of a foreign male lying on the sand. The man was wearing just a pair of swimming trunks.
A witness told police that he was on the beach when he suddenly saw the body of a man floating in the sea do he reported it to lifeguards who recovered the body and brought it back to shore.
Police found a bruise on the back of the dead man’s neck and there was blood coming from his ear.
The body was taken Thalang Hospital for an autopsy to find the true cause of death.
