The concert was held to raise money to put air conditioning units in all the teaching rooms at the studio.

Performers ranged in age from 5 to 16 years old, with some of the students having only had lessons for one month. Performances included guitar, piano, violin and voice solos.
There were also debut performances from the music school’s community groups.

Tropical Strings played a lovely rendition of Vivaldi’s Spring and Tropical Voices Junior gave us musical theatre with I Won’t Grow Up from Peter Pan, as well as Christmas carols.

The advanced choir, Tropical Voices, sang arrangements of popular songs in three part harmony, and band members from Eye Forgot ended the show with several rock tracks.
Music school owner Siobhan McGovern said the event was a great success.

“I felt proud and inspired by the high level of musicianship of the young and talented performers. We raised B14,980 to go towards the air con installation.”

SMS offers lessons in voice, piano, guitar, bass, drums, violin, songwriting and technology.

The school is running a musical theatre workshop from December 17-20 for children aged 6 to 11.
