At 8am, Wichit police were called to investigate an incident where a man had been found hanging from a door handle in a house at Baan Chaiyawat Bumpen soi Sookniran on Choa Fa East Rd in Wichit.
Police arrived at a one-storey house with Kusolharm rescue workers and in the living room found the body of a shirtless man, named as Sitthiporn Bumpen, 42, hanging from a door handle by a length of electrical wire.
The other end of the wire was plugged into an electrical socket on the wall.
Police said that they found no signs of foul play or assault and the only visible wound to Mr Sitthiporn was what appeared to be either bruising or burn marks around his neck. Police said the victim has been dead for at least six hours.
Police learned that yesterday evening (March 29), Mr Sitthiporn was scolded by his father about how he lives his life and that he did not take his career seriously.
Mr Sitthiporn, hurt by his father comments, went out to drink and came back at around midnight while everyone was asleep. Family members woke up this morning to find him hanging from the door handle.
Rescue took the body to Vachira hospital and police will wait for the results of the autopsy before ruling the death as suicide.
