Kathu police arrested Amporn Hoyrayrai, 33, at the JaiJareon gold shop on Sainam Yen Rd in Patong and seized one .38 Smith and Wesson revolver and one 9mm Smith and Wesson semi automatic pistol.
Both pistols are registered under someone elses name.
The arrest of Amporn came after police learned that he was in possession of another man's firearms. The man is is currently in prison on drugs charges.
Amporn was taken to Kathu police station where he is to be charged with illegal possession of firearms.
