“Today is the day for us in Phuket to realise how to make the world clean together,” Governor Norraphat said.
He also urged people to help others to have a deeper understanding of their relationship with nature by supporting a “Connecting People to Nature” mindset.
“We must not drop litter on the ground and we must not pollute our water sources, such as canals, with wastewater,” he said.
Gov Norraphat delivered his World Environment Day message Limelight Avenue in Phuket Town, where a host of environmental awareness activities and an exhibition were held today.
“Today’s event featured a variety of activities,” noted Provincial Administration Organisation (PPAO) Chief Administrative Officer (Palad) Watcharin Patomwatthanapong.
Students sang and performed on stage, and students from Phuket Rajabhat University delivered a presentation about Magic Eyes environmental awareness project group.
Even senior citizens joined the activities with residents Phuket Home for the Elderly performing music traditional dance on stage.
“Staff from Prince of Songkla University conducted a seminar on environmental technology, and students from Phuket Rajabhat University and Sai Nam Yen School performed a stage play highlighting environmental awareness,” Mr Watcharin said.
