Firemen this morning are battling to put out a fire at a building next to the Octopus Bar on Bangla Road in Patong, at the entrace to Soi Sea Dragon.
Several neighbouring buildings have been severely damaged in the blaze, including: Tomahawk Tattoo; Calista Massage; Smiley Bar; a pharmacy and tailor shop.
Latest reports say the tailor shop has been completely gutted.
Seven fire engines adnd three municipal water trucks joined the battle to save the three-story shophouses.
So far no injuries have been reported.
The cost of the damage is estimated to be about B5 million.
