Songyot “Daeng” Klinsrisuk, formerly of Pattaya United, has signed a two-year agreement with the Ronins to lead the club, Phuket FC President Pariyawit “Benz” Atchariyachai announced on the team's website.
“We have given a contract at the beginning for two years to him, in order to give [Coach Daeng] time to build the team. We think this contract is a great deal and with the plans that we are going to do, we are confident that Coach Daeng is the most suitable,” Benz said in a statement.
A former left wing back, Coach Daeng was an assistant coach at Sriracha FC during their 2008 campaign in which they were promoted to the Thai Premier League. He led the club back to the TPL as Head Coach in 2010. Following stints at Chonburi, Coach Daeng led Pattaya United to a 14th place finish in Yamaha League-1 this past season.
This will be the first time Coach Daeng has accepted a coaching gig outside of Chonburi province,
“The most important is the goal that has been discussed with CEO (Pramuke Atchariyachai) is very clear with the added intention of buliding our own team style which will be very exciting,” Coach Daeng said, “I believe that, there will be something good happening in Phuket for sure.”
Coach Daeng will succeed Reuther Moreira, who helped pull the team away from the relegation zone and end the season with the most points ever in Phuket's history in the Division 1. AFP
