The much-anticipated “Andaman Derby” match follows a two-week break to accommodate world cup qualifiers.

The two Southern Thai clubs drew 1-1 the last time they met on May 2 at Surakul Stadium, but Phuket FC fans know very well that their side has never won at Krabi’s Provincial Stadium since the two clubs have competed in the national tier league.

Nonetheless, with relegation from Thailand’s second tier league looming, Phuket FC are hoping to make history as they cannot afford any more losses in the final 10 matches of the season.

Of their last five matches, 13th placed Krabi (36 points) – the "Andaman Eagles" – have won one, draen three and lost one. Phuket, in 18th place (28 points) have drawn one and lost four out of their previous five.

Failing to revive their form, Phuket has a good chance of starting all over again next season in Thailand’s Division 2 Regional Leagues, in which they would have to finish first in order to qualify for a playoff bracket to vye for a spot back to the national tier.
