Both opening goals were scored off the long ball.

The Sukhothai Fire Bats’ towering Brazilian forward Felipe Ferreira opened the scoring on 25 minutes, with the equalizer coming 10 minutes later by Phuket’s Piphat Tonkanya

But Sukhothai’s Jirawut Saranun answered back only two minutes later heading in a cross to put his side up 2-1, with the score remaining unchanged through to half time.

Sukhothai midfielder Chainarong Samuttha ignited the home crowd when he headed in a free kick on 77 minutes, to put the Fire Bats up 3-1.

But five minutes later, Phuket’s captain, Yusuke Sato brought the Ronins back into contention, when he headed a free kick to Sukhothai's goalkeepr who caught the shot while still behind the goal line, and thus conceding the goal to bring the score to 3-2.

Sukhothai would get the final cheer as both Chainarong and Felipe scored their respective doubles in the closing minutes, taking advantage of a tired and demotivated Phuket back line to give their side a convncing three points with a final score of 5-2.
