The early Father’s Day celebrations were organized by Rawai Municipality and the Royal Thai Navy Third Area Command, at Cape Panwa, with Rawai Mayor Aroon Solos and Rear-Admiral Pisai Sookkhawn leading the event.

Joining them were local residents, government officials and students, who took part in a candle-lighting ceremony, which was followed by monks chanting blessings to HM The King and to the crowd taking part in the event.

“Tonight we gathered here to honour His Majesty and show our gratitude to him, and also to bring people together to promote peace and harmony on this special occasion,” Mayor Aroon said.

R/Adm Pisai handed out awards and certificates to students that won a Father’s Day slogan competition, a Father’s Day drawing competition and Rawai’s Father of the Year.
