Leading the reception, at the Phuket Governor’s Lounge at Phuket Provincial Hall at 3pm, was Phuket Vice Governor Amnuay Pinsuwan.
Joining the welcoming party were Samerjit Limlikit, Head of the Phuket Passport Office (under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs), along with Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Phuket Office Director Lertchai Wangtrakuldee; Phuket Tourist Association President Thaneth Tantipiriyakij, Phuket Chamber of Commerce President Kongsak Khoopongsakorn; as well as heads of local government agencies and private business leaders.
The aim of the meeting was to discuss the promotion of business and tourism cooperation between Phuket and Da Nang that will be “beneficial to promoting relations between Thailand and Vietnam at the local and people-to-people levels”, said an official report of the reception.
Mr Tran and his delegation are on an official visit to Phuket yesterday and today (Oct 4-5) as a familiarisation trip and to explore opportunities to develop relations between the two popular tourist destinations, the report added.
As of July 2021, Mr Tran was the Delegate of the 15th National Assembly and a Member of the National Assembly’s Finance and Budget Committee.
