Metta Armeen, Director of Weather Surveillance at the Southern Meteorological Centre (West Coast), told The Phuket News that last week was particularly cold for Phuket in the mornings and evenings, with Thursday (January 23) being the coldest day in five years. During the day however, normal temperatures were reached.
The centre said this week until Thursday (January 30), would also be particularly cold, due to the annual high pressure ridge stretching down from China.
The centre advised caution on the roads, as the high pressure could bring morning mist.
