In total, police seized more than 260g of crystal meth (ya ice), little over 45g of marijuana as well as one car and an illegal handgun from April 16 to 23, Pol Maj Sitthichai Chumchuay of the Phuket Provincial Police announced yesterday (Apr 24).
The arrests and contraband seized were results of raids carried out by Phuket Narcotics Suppression officers, led by Maj Sitthichai.
Top billing on the arrests was that of 34-year-old Worawit Chosiri, who was found in possession of 143.98g of ya ice. In making the arrest, police seized a Honda car valued at more than B300,000, Maj Sitthichai said.
Parichat Aksorn, 39, was found in possession of 55.56g of ya ice, while Chaiyut Sangthong, 27, was found in possession of 43.27g of ya ice, he added.
The other arrests were listed as:
- Suksan Salee, 29, possession of ya ice (7.65g)
- Boonpreuk Boonjitmonkon, 25, possession of ya ice (4.03g)
- Komson Thitkratok, 26, possession of ya ice (2.82g)
- Thanakon Chantaboon, 37, possession of ya ice (1.78g)
- Thawatchai Aphichai, 41, possession of ya ice (1.5g)
- Sakdina Seena, 37, possession of ya ice (650mg)
- Neng So (Myanmar national), 23, possession ya ice (450g)
- Prinda Parakan, 29, possession of ya ice (420mg)
- Jarat Feungsuwan, 36, possession of ya ice (590mg) and marijuana (31.42g)
- Sornrasit Isarasereetham, 37, possession of marijuana (12.91g) and a handmade handgun (Thai Pradit)
- Suthep Sangthong, 28, possession of of marijuana (1.96g)
“Some of the suspects have been charged already, but some of them we are still questioning,” said Maj Sitthichai.
All suspects except Suksan were taken to Phuket City Police Station for questioning and to be charged, he added. Suksan was taken to Chalong Police Station for processing.
